About Arang Kel

The climb from Kel takes most visitors up a switchback trail through forest before opening onto Arang Kel's meadow, dotted with traditional wooden houses. It's small enough to explore in an hour but scenic enough that many visitors stay overnight in one of the local guesthouses to catch the meadow at sunrise before the day-trip crowds arrive.

An open meadow shelf above the treeline, ringed by forest and facing the mountains across the Neelum Valley.

A small seasonal settlement, traditionally used for grazing, that has grown around tourism in recent years.
