About Naran
Naran exists largely to serve the valley around it. It is a seasonal town in practice — busy through the summer, largely shut when the Kaghan road closes under snow — and it concentrates the hotels, jeep hire and guides that the surrounding trips depend on. Lake Saiful Muluk sits above it, Ansoo Lake is the harder walk beyond, and the road continuing north toward Babusar Pass is the link through to the Karakoram Highway. Most itineraries treat Naran as a base rather than a sight in itself.
