Shogran sits on a shelf above the Kaghan Valley floor, reached by a side road that climbs off the main valley route. The plateau itself is open meadow backed by conifer forest, with hotels and guesthouses spread along it — comfortable, and considerably easier to reach than most high meadows in the region. The main draw beyond the plateau is Siri Paye, the higher meadow reached by jeep track above Shogran, which is where most visitors spend their day before coming back down to stay.
