A lower-elevation Swat side valley known for a milder climate and terraced farmland, popular for shorter trips.
Anything we haven't confirmed is labelled clearly rather than guessed at.
Miandam works for the trips Kalam does not: it is close enough to Mingora for a short break, low enough to stay comfortable when the upper valley is still under snow, and gentle enough that the walking is genuinely optional. Terraced farmland and orchards climb the slopes above a stream, and the valley has been a modest hill-station destination for far longer than the more dramatic places upstream. What it does not offer is high alpine scenery — that is the trade.
